Improvements in SESThreshold

Useful improvements have been made to the SESThreshold module. These enhancements aim to increase its efficiency and reliability, providing users with a more robust tool for their needs. In this section, we will outline the key updates and benefits of the upgraded SESThreshold module.

Automatic Zone Boundary Tool

The Automatic Zone Boundary tool, similar to that available in SESZoom, has been introduced in the Zone Editor screen. This tool defines custom zone coordinates automatically based on the outline of a conductor network, as illustrated in image below. It allows users to specify either a simple polygon or a strip polygon with the desired border offset. Additionally, it is also possible to customize a conductor selection to generate the custom zone.

Define Safety Scenarios Tool Improvements

The following improvements have been made to the Defined Safety Scenarios tool:

  • It is now possible to specify fault clearing time in cycles

Using cycles for the fault clearing time in the Scenario Table.
  • The tool now calculates touch and step voltages considering various surface layer resistivity values, even if the No Surface Layer Installed option is selected, as illustrated in image below. However, this requires that the thickness of the surface layer be greater than zero.
